Growing up the only pet I was ever allowed was a hamster called Fuzzball. My mum always said when I moved out I could get whatever I wanted, so I did!
I now have two beautiful dogs, Pegasus and George and I foster for a local charity Safe Rescue For Dogs.
Peg is a boxer x labrador and we volunteer for Pets As Therapy visiting residential homes, schools and hospitals.
George is a Romanian collie x, he is extremely nervous and scared of all humans, all things that move, well, to be honest, most things in general. I have done a lot of rehabilitation work with him in the 18 months I have had him and he is much improved. He is a very handsome boy and admired by everyone he meets (before he runs away).
I will frequently use this website to do some good for the charity I work for and advertise the dogs in our care that need new homes. Safe Rescue For Dogs mainly rescue Romanian dogs that come from a variety of situations. The majority have been street dogs. Dogs are treated appallingly in Romania by both members of the public and the government employed dog catchers. Now I know what happens to them I cannot and will not turn my back on them and if I can help just one more find a home, I will do what I can.
Several people I know do not approve of my helping the Rommies. As far as I am concerned a dog in need is the same the world over. I adore my canine companions and will endeavour to look after your pups as kindly as I do my own.
